Qualities and Attributes
I recommend you to look at the character sheet while reading this. Find the respective section on it and follow along.
Your qualities and attributes are the mechanical advantage of you over everyone else in the scene. They are split into 3 attributes: The Mind, The Body and The Spirit.
The value of an attribute is equal to the amount of first pips taken in its qualities. It represents how well that part of your character is able to resist an external influence.
Each can have up to 4 pips in an quality and up to 3 in attribute.
The value of individual qualities within each attribute corresponds to the ability of a character to execute a certain action.

Initially, when you have 0 pips in a specific quality you are considered to be rolling it with +1 Bane. Every pip gets you a +1 Boon for rolling that quality. Every first pip in an quality also gives you +1 Boon for that attribute.
